Russell Snyder is a versatile and accomplished bass player hailing from Maryland, USA. Known for a seamless ability to move between genres, Russell is a musician who embodies adaptability, precision, and creativity. Russell’s unique style is informed by a deep love for jazz, funk, ska, hip hop, and world music. From soulful grooves to the intricate harmonies of bebop, Russell’s compositions and bass lines provide the backbone for countless projects, showcasing both technical prowess and a distinctively characterful tone.

Russell’s musical journey began at a young age playing with local bands as a teenager. He went on to attend Eastman School of Music in New York and McGill University in Montreal where he studied Classical and Jazz Performance as well as composition. This well-rounded background has allowed Russell to seamlessly transition from supporting band member to bandleader, often taking charge of arrangements and production in various ensembles and collaborative projects.

Throughout his dynamic career, Russell has played alongside a diverse range of artists, from indie artists to seasoned jazz icons, continually demonstrating an ability to adapt and innovate.

Russell is currently based in Herzogenaurach, Germany near Nuremberg.
